Jeff
has had an interest in racing practically since birth but was never more than
just a
spectator. He did some drag racing with the Penn-Ohio Buick
Performance Club in
the late 90’s and early 00’s before joining NASA in
2002. A NASA member in the
Ohio/Indiana (now
all the way to competition racing. In 2005 Jeff started
his racing career in a Legends car
and racked up several class wins. Jeff
made the switch to Spec Miata in mid 2006,
looking for more
competition. '
had already been serving as a race car for AIM
Tuning before Jeff purchased her.
2007 was Jeff’s first year racing full
time in the Spec Miata Series. Despite suffering
from almost weekly
mechanical issues, “
including the Midwest
Enduro Series (Jeff & Brian co-driving) and NASA National
Championships, thanks largely in part to
the support from The Winning Formula. At
the final event of the year at
Sunday’s race. Driving a backup
loner car (which turned out to be “Floyd”, Brian’s #57),
Jeff ended the
season with a 4th place finish at Putnam Park placing him 6th in the
regional championship which
included over 40 Spec-Miata drivers.
In addition to driving Jeff has
always been an active staff member with NASA.
Anyone attending a NASA event
in either the Great Lakes on
is liable to recognize him as “that guy always working grid”. Jeff has
worked
just about every volunteer position within NASA - registration, tech,
pace car
driver, safety truck, flagger/corner worker, etc. Currently
he is the Chief
Grid Marshal for the MidWest region and, after completing
his instructor
certification in 2007, an HPDE instructor for the
